We have made an impact in our communities and in the people who call them home. From leadership development to advocacy and community empowerment, we work to improve the lives and futures of immigrants in our neighborhoods and beyond.
Parent Mentor Program
The Parent Mentor Program is a nationally recognized parent engagement model that builds deep and lasting relationships between students, teachers, and parents. Parent Mentors serve as additional eyes, hands, and ears for teachers inside the classroom.
Each week, Parent Mentors come together for additional training, information sessions on important topics, and leadership development. After 200 hours of service, Parent Mentors graduate from the program, ready to be leaders in their shcools and communities.

New Americans Initiative
The New Americans Initiative (NAI) is a state-wide program that provides eligible community members guidance and support with the naturalization process. NAI includes information and assistance to community members to renew their work authorization and reapply for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Citizenship/DACA renewal workshops are offered locally 4-5 times per year, and through partnerships with five local libraries SSIP offers free Citizenship Classes to prepare community members for their naturalization interview at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Get out The Vote
Our Get out the Vote (GOTV) initiative is possible thanks to community volunteers that offer their time to share with citizens the importance of voting, through door-knocking and phone banking.
We organize information sessions, community meetings, and workshops to educate the community on important issues.
