GENERAL INFORMATION

The Consulate on Wheels only issues passports, consular registration of high security (MCAS), birth certificates of persons registered in Mexico, and processes the Credential of the National Electoral Institute (INE). Likewise, the first stage of the Dual Nationality process is carried out, which consists of document review, file preparation and followup for the second step in Chicago (Only one person needs to bring any documents, you do not need to provide witnesses or documentation for dependents).

REQUIREMENTS

FIRST PASSPORT

To process your passport for the first time (or if your passport was issued before May 2005), you must present the following documents:

1. Original Birth Certificate (The birth certificate must be in good condition, unaltered and undamaged). If your birth certificate is damaged, you can process the issue of one for $ 13 dollars. (NOTE: We have 80% of records and there is still a probability that your record is not in the system.)
2. Official identification with photograph issued by the Mexican government or some foreign government. The Government of Mexico accepts 26 different types of identification, some of them include:

• Voting license
• Mexican driver’s license
• Military Primer
• Certificate of primary, secondary or preparatory studies issued by the SEP.
• Identification issued by a school or university in the United States.
• Driver´s License or State ID

NOTE: It is important that the name and date of birth of the person interested in his identification are equal to that in the birth certificate. The omissions of the second surname are acceptable. In the event that the person concerned is a married woman and uses the Surname of the spouse, they must present the original marriage certificate.

PASSPORT RENEWAL

To renew passports that were issued as of May 2005, they must only present the passport they wish to renew

* If your passport was issued for only one year or contains comments, you must present all documents as if you were processing your passport for the first time.

MINORS

If the interested party is LESSER OF AGE, BOTH PARENTS must be present or, where appropriate, have processed the OP-7 format and present CURRENT OFFICIAL IDENTIFICATIONS (their names must faithfully match the name that appears on the child’s birth certificate) in addition to Present the above requirements.

ENROLLMENT

To process the registration for the first time (or if your registration was issued before May 2005), you must submit the following documents:

1. 3. Proof of address in the name of the interested party. Proof of residence of the spouse is only accepted if they present the original marriage certificate. Some examples of proof of address are: (Medical insurance, car insurance, gas bills, telephone, internet, cell phone, electricity, etc., check stubs, money transfer receipts, driver’s license or state ID, and / or NOTARIZED rental agreement.

RENEWAL

To renew the registrations that were issued from May 2005 onwards, you must only present the registration you wish to renew and a new proof of address (if you changed your address).

MINORS

BIRTH CERTIFICATES

ELECTOR CREDENTIAL (INE)

To process the INE Voter Credential you must present the following documents:

(NOTE: We have 80% of records and there is still a probability that your record is not in the system.)
2. Official identification with photograph issued by the Mexican government or some foreign government.
3. Proof of address.

If you have a registration, that identification covers the requirements for identification and proof of address.

DUAL CITIZENSHIP

Present the following documentation in original:
Birth certificate of the person to be registered “long version”, in which the place, date and time of birth must be specified, as well as the parents’ full name and date of birth, hospital name and doctor’s name Who attended the delivery. The original will not be returned.
Identification of the minor according to his age: If the registered person is under six years old, he may present a certificate of birth issued by the hospital, identification of the State or passport as identification; If the registrant is older than six years, he must present a valid official identification (passport, school or state identification or driver’s license).

PAYMENTS

Payment can be made in cash or by credit or debit card (VISA and MasterCard).
